His research has been within food markets, food industry, food economics and international food business. He also works with food clusters and especially with cooperatives and their role in food value chains and the development of international competitiveness. Previously, he has been employed by private companies and organisations within the food industry for 20 years, so his research and teaching also relates to the relations and interfaces between science and industry. He has had more than 530 presentations for different audiences, especially business groups, representatives of the food industry and farmer associations, but also on more than 10 different foreign universities.
