Summer School 2022: Creating Impact Through Research

The 2022 edition of OpenInnoTrain's Summer School for learning about the importance, theory and practice of research impact in academia and industry.

This Summer School focused on teaching researchers at different levels of their research careers about the importance of research impact in both academia and industry and about the ways in which impact can be delivered at different stages of research.

The Summer School, that was held in Porto and online, aims to provide an understanding about the established research pathways for conducting and delivering impactful research and to understand how to implement the tools and techniques required for generating impact through research.

Those who actively participated in the full 5-days program were able to receive a Certificate of Participation and 2 ECTS, granted by the University of Vaasa.

Our participants included early and senior career researchers, highly experienced practitioners and industry personnel, as well as project managers, at different stages of their career pathways. Along with the Summer School Lead, Prof. Anne-Laure Mention, and our delivery team Dr. Avni Misra, Dr. Ahmad Alaassar, we were delighted to count on outstanding presenters: Dr. Daria Tataj, Dr. Shakuntala Thilsted, Dr. Mona Enell- Nilsson, Prof. Tauno Kekale, Mr. José Carlos Caldeira, Dr. Bozidar Vlacic, Dr. Massimo Menichinelli, Dr. Elena Casprini, Dr. Ekaterina Albats. Our reviewers inputs were also extremely valuable, thanks to Luciano Moreira, Maria Antonia Nunes, Khuram Shahzad, Bozidar Vlacic for encouraging and helping our participants.

The event also provided fantastic networking opportunities for our participants and presenters, with thought-provoking discussions on individual and collective impact journeys.
