How to reach Vaasa

Vaasa represents the educational, cultural and tourist centre of Western Finland. Vaasa is a versatile industrial city offering good possibilities of development especially for the international energy industry.
The connections from Vaasa to Europe and further away are pretty short thanks to several flight connections. It takes only 10 minutes by car from the Vaasa airport to the Vaasa city center. Vaasa airport is the fifth largest in Finland, and three airline companies operate from Vaasa to Helsinki and Stockholm.
If you choose to come by train, you’ll arrive directly in to the Vaasa city center; you can travel from Helsinki to Vaasa in no less than 3, 5 hours.
The shortest sea route from Finland to Sweden is between Vaasa and Umeå. You can travel between the cities with a ferry, which operates throughout all the seasons of the year.
