Gergana's secondment experience:

  • If you could provide one piece of advice to anyone thinking about doing a secondment, what would it be?

Have an objective of what you want to achieve during your secondment but also make room for ‘accidental’ collaborations on new projects.

  • What is something new that has been embedded into your approach to your research as a result of your secondment, how has the secondment impacted your research?

The secondment helped me to collect input and know-how on innovation & entrepreneurship support services which are offered by universities and their subsidiaries.

  • Can you give us an example of a tangible knowledge transfer / exchange that took place during your secondment?

Together with two other secondees, we will be working on a research paper which incorporates our different research interests, knowledge of innovation and organizational phenomena, and research methods.

  • What was the most valuable aspect of your secondment?

Getting to know how a university similar to the one I come from works with innovation & entrepreneurship and how a science and technology park support academic entrepreneurship.
