Mar's main scientific interests revolve around the integration of behavioral insights for the prevention and reduction of environmental risks, and the achievement of sustainable adaptive behaviors. Before her PhD, she worked at the United Nations University (UNU-EHS) for over three years, first as a Student Assistant and later as a Junior Researcher. In this work, Mar was involved in multiple research projects: Tipping Points of Food Security in West Africa, global analysis of Future Risk in NAPs, policy coherence in Mexico, and Transformative Sustainability in Latin America. Prior to joining UNU, Mar worked in education, community development, conservation and climate change adaptation in Mexico, Nicaragua and France.
